Full description of the idea
My suggestion is to allow all users as many interests as they want under the following condition: after 150 interests all interests would automatically become unclickable and unable to search. This would allow those users who want more interests but the privacy of not having strangers find their journal, or who are willing to trade one for the other, another option without putting any strain on livejournal's database. After all many users have 150 interests and many have 50 or more that they have alone.
An ordered list of benefits
- More interests for all users. Less strain and traffic on the system. Privacy that would hopefully generate less spam and fewer random visitors.
- Would require the limit to be removed and an automatic feature to switch on after 150 interests.
