Title
Community maintainers should be able to disallow Cyrillic posts

Short, concise description of the idea
The maintainers of a community should be given a checkbox option that would prohibit Cyrillic-alphabet posts in the community. This would go a long way toward ending the spam problem in English-language LJ communities

Full description of the idea
The vast majority of spam posts in communities that I read are posted in Cyrillic characters. Giving community maintainers the ability to automatically prevent such posts would take a large burden off the community's maintainers and readers (and the LJ abuse-prevention team).
An ordered list of benefits
  • Fewer spam posts in communities, and thus on friends-list pages
  • Less work for community maintainers
  • Less work for the LJ Abuse team
An ordered list of problems/issues involved
  • It will not prevent spam in LJ communities that have both Roman-alphabet and Cyrillic-alphabet posters (who are not spammers). But I don't think LJ has many such communities.
