Allow users to upload their own custom-designed virtual gifts (GIFs, etc) for giving to their f-list, community members, etc.
Full description of the idea
There's a good selection of virtual gifts, but sometimes I'd like to design my own specific picture, to give out post-challenge at one of the communities I mod, or to friends. I think it would be wonderful if users were allowed to design and give out their own custom jpeg/gif virtual gifts. Set the parameters of what size, etc is permissable (like with userpics), along with guidelines about appropriate content, and let people upload their own.
An ordered list of benefits
- You could charge an extra fee for the service.
- You'd have some very happy users, who would have exactly what they want.
- You would probably have to have someone "approve" the custom virtual gift before it's allowed to be used, due to the possibility of trolls posting x-rated, racist, or otherwise offensive images.
