I think it would be a good idea to be able to move entries from one place(say, a community) to another(either another community or a personal journal).
Full description of the idea
I think that the ability to move an entry to another place would be very useful. For example(and in my personal case), I have an entry that's on a community that I made, that I want to get rid of or perhaps do something else with. However, I want to keep that specific entry(or maybe several specific entries). I would have to keep the community and simply delete the other entries. Especially if I was planning on reusing the community for something entirely different, this would prove to be annoying.
It would be better if I could simply move the entry from the community to my personal journal or, perhaps, another community. Redirecting links would also be good here. That's what this suggestion is for.
An ordered list of benefits
- Preservation of old entries and threads mostly.
- Would also possibly prevent clutter of old communities just for a few entries.
- Someone would have to code this in, which I can't imagine being easy or taking only a few minutes.
- Unless redirects are used, this may cause problems with old links.
