I would like to see the style="" attribute allowed in HTML tags in LJ comments. This tag is used for a variety of things, from color formatting to background images such as sparkletext.
Full description of the idea
The style="" attribut is being stripped out of comment tags prior to their being rendered by a browser. This is extremely disappointing to me because I'm one of the moderators of a collaborative fiction/RP community, and a number of our threads have invested heavily in CSS in order to explore hyperfiction as a medium. The loss of this CSS undermines the hard work and creativity a number of our users have put into their craft.

An ordered list of benefits
- Allows greater visual creativity in comments
- Allows exploration of hypertext as a medium
- Is common currency in internet culture, such as use of sparkletext
- There are some security concerns, as noted here: vanillaforums.org/discussion/12987/major-htmlawed-security-issues/p1 . However, I propose that a more limited scrubbing could eliminate most of these vulnerabilities, such as scrubbing (universally or selectively) width/height/opacity/z-index/positioning properties within the style="" attribute.
- It is possible to overdo CSS to make comments into eyesores, but it's also possible to do that by gratuitous abuse of written language, alone.
