Athens & Venice

wow, where am I? I didn't make a post for Greece but I just left Venice and now I am in Vienna. Shit! How time flies! Well, Athens was cool. Not much to see there besides Greek ruins. Which is cool, but the stuff we saw in Pompeii was better preserved. Jeez, listen to me... I'm being hoity toity about priceless old ruins! But I've seen them, and enjoyed them. Scafolding was all over the Parthenon and ruined it's look. I love tza-tzchi sauce. Spelling? We went to this tiny town called Egio because we didn't have time to go to any islands because of our ferry. We had to use our Greek phrasebook like there was no tomorrow. No one spoke english. Which was fine--- it was exciting really. It was a beautiful waterfront town with cheap food, etc.

Venice is my favorite city so far. It was soooo enchanting! We got a 48hr water bus pass and I loved going up and down the canals. Kevin and I had saved a gondola ride for our last evening, but it rained so there were no trips... darn! It's ok... 80 euro is a lot for a stupid romantic boat trip anyway (scuffing of my shoe). I loved the winged lions everywhere (in honor of St Mark) and I fed the pigeons. They aren't so dirty and bad after all. Though it was funny to have them on my head! What a funny picture that made!

Vienna day one: Haven't done anything yet. Just arrived. But will try to post again soon. We finally have reliable wi fi at this hostel so I will try to keep everyone posted for a change.
