one more week and then i'll be back at school! getting excited about my classes and ann arbor in general. also excited for coldplay in 4 days! i can't wait to hear them play "fix you" live, that song is soooo beautiful.
lots of good music i'm hearing now, like nine inch nails "only," weezer "we are all on drugs" which cracks me up, the new franz ferdinand song, and "bleeding heart baby" by head autimatica.
bought "harmful if swallowed" and "retaliation" by dane cook, and i was reminded how FUCKING HILARIOUS that man is. i would have his babies for sure (if i were to ever have babies). anyone who is going to see him, I AM SO JEALOUS. i love him to death.
i read "blindness" by jose saramajo, who won the nobel prize for literature in 1998. this book is spectacular. the premise, everyone in a fictional locale goes blind, and only one person out of them all can see, was very thought-provoking. nobody in the book was ever named, only things like "the doctor's wife" and "the first blind man" which added to the overall effect of the book. it went deep into human nature, and i just loved it.
speaking of books, i almost reached my goal of a book a week this summer, 14 books in all out of about 18 weeks off of school. (it will be 15 if i finish "one flew over the cuckoo's nest" next week). i'm pretty happy with that number.
saw a few movies last week, namely "the 40 year old virgin" which was SO FUNNY and sweet too (and also hit a little too close to home if you know what i mean). "you have to wait until the seed grows into a plant, then you have to fuck the plant" and "know how i know you're gay?" and "you're putting the pussy on a pedestal."
also saw "red eye" which was very good and INTENSE and cillian murphy is the most beautiful person i have seen on screen in a long time, even when he was filled with rage.
and a highlight of last friday night, went drunken skinny dipping with emily and alicia in some apartment complex pools, and it was so liberating and wonderful. a real last hurrah for the three of us, and absolutely unforgettable. it's great to be completely understood.
oh, and i got stung by a bee for the first time the other day. i was afraid i would have an allergic reaction, since i seem to be allergic to everything else, but yeah, didn't die. but it is aptly called "getting stung," because that's exactly what it feels like. i should have just punched every bee in the face, dane cook style, but i was too distraught over my stinging finger to do so.
and when i start talking about bee stings, it's time for me to go.
