So I just developed some film and what I got back were the pictures from my competition at NYC this summer and Caitlin and Marc's parties right before we all went our seperate ways. I was looking at the pictures at dinner and got teary eyed because of how much I miss home and everyone that is involved in it. Don't get me wrong, I love college but ( Read more... )

I can agree with a lot of what you've said. Now that I'm in college, it seems like I've lost that entire arts side... and I'm really starting to miss it. Granted, I know there's a theater program and a music program out there, and I've met a few people... but there isn't that connection. And, in general, with all of the people that I'm starting to call friends, there isn't that connection of having known people for a long time. Inside jokes don't work, and you keep wanting to go "remember that time when..." but you can't.

I think everyone can relate, at least on some level. In general, I'm very happy, and much prefer college to high school... but there are some things that I truly do miss. It'll be good to see everyone Over Thanksgiving and Christmas, and maybe at Wizard!

But I'm not sure if I can do the Saturday show! As a member of the Student Government Association, I have to give tours at the open house that day, and I have no idea how long that goes for, or when I'll be home. Do you know if everyone's going to that showing? I suppose I'll just have to see what I can do...

Anyway, chin-up, Becca. Though it may feel like you're alone sometimes, you're really not. I'd bet that if you asked the people around you, you'd find out that they have their own yearnings for things they left behind, just like all of us.

I think I'm going to make a mental note to start asking people about that. You never know when you might find someone who's missing the same things (more or less) as you.
