Maybe it's good that I don't give these things a title! (other than ACEO #Whatever) :) Everyone sees something different in them, and I always enjoy hearing what other people have to say. You have a good imagination! Now that you pointed out the volcano, I can totally see it.
The part I enjoy most is just playing with colors. Really this particular piece is more "abstract expressionism" than anything else...

Is it a type of process art (i.e. Do you use the same process over-and-over and produce different results)? Or do you paint with the intention of making a specific texture/specific abstract shapes?

The hand-dyed papers started out as an experiment. I teach my surface design class how to dye fabrics using fiber reactive dyes. By nature, that's a process that leaves leftover dyes at the end. I can't stand pouring the extra dyes down the drain because they are just too pretty
