...'It' being Marie-Antoinette by Coppola - good GOD, but that movie was BOOOOOOORING. BOOOOOORING.
May I say it once more?
BoooOOOOOooooOOOOring!
I actually sat through TWO HOURS of it with a friend and when there STILL appeared to be no end in sight, we walked out.
Fuckin' A. (And just for the record - I loved "Lost in Translation", so it's not just my ADD speaking here.) Dunst was actually quite good, but her stilted running back and forth across the Versailles and crazy 'dos can only keep a girl's attention for so long.
Anyway.
You know, I will actually miss Brussels when I leave. No, not the weather necessarily (it has been raining for the majority of the month of May), nor the crazy clogs of bureaucracy (just try getting out of a pre-paid cell phone contract), but I met a great deal of fun people here. The Swedes, the Danes, the Faroese (some would say that's the same thing, but never actually to the Faroese's face), the Malay (!), the Spaniards, French, French Basque, Spanish Basque, hell, there's even this crazy little Bosnian dyke here - a horny little thing, I tell ya.
Somehow I can't foresee that kind of diversity in the good ole Budapest. (Did I mention I'm moving to Hungary for a year?) Still, it'll be a challenge! A new country, a new city! A new language to mangle! (Hungarian belongs to the same group of languages as Finnish, apparently, and is widely accepted to be one of the hardest European languages to learn.)
On the other hand, I actually have a pre-screening phone interview for a job here in Brussels next week, and I'm trying not to let that mess w/my head. I have already started visualizing myself eating paprikash, so the prick of hope that I could actually get this job is messing with my mental Hungarization.
On a side note, watching "Weeds" while high on some good hydro? The best. Beware of serious High School flashbacks, though - honestly, recreational drug use is so something you grow out by your mid-twenties. Good thing I'm, like, totally regressing here, no?
