Weekends Are Exhausting

Mar 18, 2012 18:20

It seems like there never is enough time during the weekends to fully relax or to do everything you fully intended.
It's starting to get considerably warmer which is such an odd thing for mid-March. Flip-flops, shorts, open windows...these are not your usual thing for March. But, I enjoy this weather and would prefer if it stayed just like this. Not too hot. Not too cold. Comfortable.

The biking thing is going well. Haven't gone out today. Wish I had but I'm just kind of wanting a bum lazy day today. It is actually taking some personal constraints not to go hunt down some ice cream (omg I could make Soy ice cream!!!) and veg out in front of the TV watching Hallmark Movie Channel. I think Hallmark has surpassed Lifetime (yes, I'm going to talk Chick Flick TV. Get over it). Lifetime and LMN use to be your main go-to for gushy love and romance movies. Now, it has more of the main stream flicks (No Reservations, Legally Blonde, ect) but a considerable amount of crap too. I use to love to watch We TV too because it was geared more towards women (Women's Entertainment. Hmmm who'da thunk it?) but there are too many bride and wedding shows on it. Weekends on Hallmark are all about the true love bullshit, all decorated with that frilly sugary pink cake icing and herbal tea. It's got the movies that make you want to believe in true love and romance and that guys are all sweet and strong and after two hours, all obstacles are overcome and everyone's happily in love. Oh, if only life were that simple at times. But Lifetime's two channels really like to focus more on revenge of post-infidelity, murder and more infidelity. Not so much on the cheesy romance like falling in love in Ireland or accidentally getting an email from your secret admirer. Still, a bit of empty calorie TV with some substance. Just don't go near Oxygen or MTV or any of the other TV channels with reality show empty calorie programming. That one could get you into trouble.

After I've finally weened myself away from that tangent...tonight is Sunday and I love Sunday nights even though they never seem to go according to plan. Danielle and I had discussed having a sisterly dinner and a movie afternoon before our typical Sunday night programming. Instead, due to the St. Patrick's Day party in the city at Annie and Sean's, plans changed. I slept in. Annie drove Danielle and Janessa home a couple hours ago. And I'm still lagging a bit. I was lagging yesterday too. As if Friday night's party impacted me to the point of being lazy sleepy. Psh. Excuses. I did manage to get my bike brakes fixed and take a nice ride around the neighborhood.

So now, I want to write. I want to read. I want to fill this weird hunger in the pit of my soul. But I'm restless. And I'm clearly exhausted. Ugh.
Less than two hours before we see Norman. Hope it's a good night!
I should go ride my bike. I want to ride the motorcycle.
