Anyway, you missed some definitions. I'm not quite sure where "Informal." comes from, but you also have shot like...a fired projectile, or a shot as in an incredibly small serving of a drink.

and the "informal" was saying that these were "informal" definitions. Kind of like, "slang" or "infinitive".
you read too much into this....
