Yuletide Letter 2011
Dear Yuletide author:
Thank you for signing up for yuletide! More specific details on my requests are under the cuts below but as the saying goes, optional details are optional. If you get inspired to write something else then go for it. I'm sure it'll be AMAZEBALLS.
For starters, I love fic with a nice balance of angst and humor. Plot is awesome but not necessary, as is sex. Also, here's the thing - I love women characters.
Now, on to my requests:
Request 1: Hip Hop RPF
Jay-Z and Beyoncé are my OTP in this fandom, so at the very least it'd be great to receive a story about their relationship, or from an outsider's POV observing them. I love tour stories or something that explores how they interact while performing.
My main desire is to read a fic that explains what happened after Bey briefly stole the show at the Heart of the City Tour in MSG, 2008. (shown in this video: http://youtu.be/5SFzkCZnbxk) This occurred just one month after Bey and Jay got married.
Other ideas: write an AU! Doesn't matter what kind, so long as Jay and Bey are together. Or, how has their age difference affected their relationship? Bey clearly has a daddy kink because one of her nicknames for Jay is "Pop Pop". Explore that.
Solange and/or Kanye's inclusion would be excellent but not required. Have fun with this, please!
Request 2: Southland
Lydia Adams is my heart so anything Lydia-centric! A day in the life type of fic, or her coping mechanisms when a case falls apart. Explore her partnership/friendship with Josie Ochoa, or the dynamic with her new partner. Anything or everything in between would be well received, trust!
Request 3: Princess and the Frog
I've been thinking about a what-if scenario. Suppose Tiana and Naveen were turned back human earlier in the film. Would they still fall in love? I'd love something that explored their courtship outside the confines of frogdom, as it were.
A few other things to keep in mind is that I'm interested in stories with: snarky banter, laughter, lack of personal space, intimacy, awkward moments, lust, drunken confessions, groping, multi-positional realistic sex, long and deep kisses, personality clashes, angst, hurt/comfort, non-traditional gender roles, longing, teasing and love.
Not so interested in: rape, incest, character bashing, humiliation, character death, love triangles, isms that have no basis in canon/the source text, and making a person's skin color analogous to foods (for example: chocolate/mocha/caramel skin).
To sum up, please have fun with your assignment and ultimately write something that you would also enjoy. I hope this was helpful!
