Yuletide Letter 2010
Dear Yuletide author:
Thank you for signing up for yuletide! This year I got a bit more specific on my requests, but as the saying goes, optional details are optional. If you get inspired to write something else then go for it. I'm sure it'll be AMAZEBALLS.
For starters, I love fic with a nice balance of angst and humor. Plot is awesome but not necessary, as is sex. Also, here's the thing - I love female characters, as you can probably tell.
Now, on to my requests:
Request 1: Hip Hop RPF
So basically, I just want shenanigans between Beyonce, Solange, Jay-Z and Kanye. For example, suppose the Twitter rumors about Kanye and Solange were true. How did they hook up? What do Bey and Jay think about it? Or make it Kanye/Lupe, and somehow Ye tricks Lupe into going on a double date with Jay and Bey. Like, I would love for that to happen. (And I am totally familiar enough with these people to shorten their names.)
Also, I really want to emphasize how totally ok I am with other characters being included beside the four I requested.
Request 2: Princess and the Frog
I could never get enough of Tiana and Naveen in my life, so whatever fic I get about this fandom would please me greatly.
Prompt: the Palace is flourishing but Tiana and Naveen still have to adjust to married life and each other’s expectations. Feel free to include Charlotte and Eudora.
Request 3: HawthoRNe
Oh lord. Ok, I have to be honest here and say that I am ridiculously fond of the Christina/Tom pairing and I'd very much appreciate some hot sex between them but it's not a requirement, obvs. I also love Bobbie and Christina's friendship.
Having said that, my prompt: Something sexy and humorous, or angsty, about Tom/Christina. They're finally together but they've still got issues to work out.
Request 4: Grindhouse
I have so many feelings about Death Proof, so what I'd really love is some great bantery/femslashy interaction between Kim and Zoe, with added Abernathy because she is so damn awesome (and Lee too!). They were the highlight of this movie for me.
Prompt: Zoe and Kim have always been close, but Abernathy would know if two of her best friends were dating each other, right?
A few other things to keep in mind is that I'm interested in stories with: snarky banter, laughter, lack of personal space, intimacy, awkward moments, lust, drunken confessions, groping, multi-positional realistic sex, long and deep kisses, personality clashes, angst, hurt/comfort, non-traditional gender roles, longing, teasing and love.
Not so interested in: rape, incest, character bashing, humiliation, character death, love triangles, isms that have no basis in canon/the source text, and making a person's skin color analogous to foods (for example: chocolate/mocha/caramel skin).
To sum up, please have fun with your assignment and ultimately write something that you would also enjoy. I hope this was helpful!
