Ok! So, I talked about this in a locked post and then kernezelda did my bidding by posting her own version first. It's awesome, check it out.

Totally cribbing Kerne's choice for Zhaan. Also, thanks to rydra_wong for her suggestion of Crichton. INSPIRED.

I KNOW, RIGHT?! Days later and Idris as Crichton is still clearly the best idea ever!

Yay! Shohreh is a great actress who could infuse the same level of sex appeal and a cool, calculating facade that Rebecca Riggs lends her Grayza (probably more, just enough to make you go, "Now that's a bad bitch!").

I don't think I have the words to describe how awesome Chiwetel would be as Scorpius. I love his acting so much.

I need to watch something Idris Elba is in. *nodnod*

I can now hear Rygel saying, "I am not a Merry Man!"

Stephanie Jacobsen as Sikozu, mmmm-hmm.

Also, Sydney Poitier is lovely.

You so do. Top of the list would be The Wire, IMHO, but he's also great in Ultraviolet (the UK miniseries, not the film of the same name).

He's a fantastic actor, and seems to have that Browder thing of being very multi-talented and focused IRL.

He gets cast as a lot of badasses, but he can be very funny and it would be really interesting to see him play Crichton's sweet and dorky qualities too; I think he'd rock it. Also, he does great WTF faces, which is obviously essential.

Wait, wait - Ultraviolet? Was he the hyphenated team member, the blonde lady's partner Rice-something? *goes to look in IMBD* Vaughn Rice, that's it. I loved that mini-series! Gosh, that was 12 years ago!?

I need to re-watch that, indeed.

The Wire is a gritty police thing, isn't it? I've heard pretty much universal good reviews, so maybe I'll go ahead and watch at least a couple of episodes, see if the non-sci-fi will stick.

The Wire starts out looking like a gritty police thing, then turns into this huge, multi-stranded epic about the whole city of Baltimore. It's very character-driven and the cast are amazing (season 4 has the best, least sentimental child actors I've ever seen). Idris Elba has a particularly juicy role as Stringer Bell.

The show can seem pretty impenetrable at first because it dumps you in at the deep end with no info-dumps and no "As you know, Bob" speeches, but if you stick with it you soak it all up as you go along.

and you used my JUNGLE JULIA suggestion! I kinda love you, girl.

I'm SAYIN, he SO would! Hearts in my eyes forever and a day. I could stan for Chiwetel, is what I mean.

And, the more I thought about Sydney Poitier, the more I thought of how perfect she'd be as Aeryn, physically. I haven't seen her in many other roles (yay JUNGLE JULIA), so I can only speculate if she could bring it like Claudia did.

Damn, now I kinda make out with your Scorpious! Your Aeryn is so pretty! And Kal Penn! Michelle Yeoh!
I approve this. (Plus Lani as Crais is perfect)

Yeah, I could've recast Crais, but I honestly feel like Lani did such a great job at making Crais his own that I didn't bother. Plus, his voice is Pilot, nobody else.
