happy new year red
happy lunar new year kids! (yes, please call it the lunar new year, its not JUST the chinese who celebrate it thank you! XD)
yes, a little belated but its still new year's day! -just!-
mine wasn't particularly eventful, i spent all day sitting in the house writing my dissertation. woop.
i did call daddy in korea to say happy new year, i forgot just how much i miss him.
i really didn't mean to, and especially not infront of dad but i bawled like a baby.
it makes me hurt to hear his voice, not because he sounds much older or unwell but because he sounds EXACTLY as he did since forever.
he has an amazing voice, he did some voice overs for documentaries and stuff, a warm light brown kind of tone - i learned to sing from listening to him.
and to hear that voice coming out of this tiny machine i'm holding to my ear, that can carry over thousands of miles... i dunno, just made me think - whoa, what am i doing here so far away from him?
to do uni? to get a job? why can't i have that where he is too? surely being with family is more important?
but then of course i realised that if i was in korea that would mean puppy would go through the same with the phone to scotland...
why can't everyone just all live in one place?

anyway, new years huh?
i dunno if i write this every year, but i hope none of you fell asleep between 23:00 and 00:00
that is the magical time between the years, where goblins, fairies and spirits find cracks to get into our world!
in korean folklore it is said that if you fall asleep during that magical time and don't stand witness to the year changing, the mischievous spirits will cause leakage of time and you will age a thousand years instantly!!!
and the sleepyheads wake up with silver white hair and eyebrows! trloo storly!

anyway, in other news, Lush is doing some amazing new products that is Vanilla Fountain scented - a whole range in that fragrance! yum.
ratties are doing very well, no big fights yet.
puppy makes an adorable seal both in and out of the water.
also, got a pretty pink festival dress on WoW. yays!
