Ok, so I posted that comment about having a house and it seemed to spark some interest among those of you that saw it so I thought I'd make a post about it rather than just one comment. This way you can get the whole story as to how I came about to hold the key to a house I didn't have to pay for.
My story starts about 9 years ago when I was 15 and had a new job babysitting the lovely Stewart boys (whom many of you have had the pleasure of meeting). Sadly 2 years later their mother skipped out on them and my job went from part part part time to OMG PLEASE WATCH MY KIDS NOW! All the time.
Because I stepped up to the plate and took on the job as part time mum to the Stewart boys, I became very close to the family. Eventually Mike met Deana, fell inlove, got married and she brought 3 more boys into the picture. By this time some of the older boys were able to watch the younger ones and my job was becomming ever less frequent - which was a good thing 'cause I had to grow up and get a "real job." Well, a job that paid more than $3 an hour. Oh, I didn't mention I did all this for only $3 an hour? Yeah, after his wife left him Mike didn't have that much money and 4 boys to feed so I did him a favour and kept it cheap.
Long story short, the Stewarts love me and I love them.
This weekend at CDBA camp (and no, that's not a typo, they changed the name while I was gone), I finally introduced them to Eddy and they just loved him and they all hit it off. It was great to know that my second family approved of my new one. Then we started talking about future plans and somehow we started talking about houses. They mentioned that since they had moved into Deana's house in Harvey they had a perfectly good 4 bedroom house hanging out in Silverwood with no one living in it. They said they didn't want to rent it out to strangers but didn't know what to do with it and I, jokingly said that Eddy and I would live in it for them. Next thing I knew I had a house key in me hand
Seriously. Mike and Deana said that if we took over the utility bills for them we could have the house tomorrow. How awesome is that?
Eddy and I have talked about and we owe too much money to too many people at the moment so we can't afford the ulitility bills right now but Mike also said they have some stuff to move out of it and he wants to replace the windows and fix up the roof before we move in so that works out.
But hopefully by Christmas, once Eddy and I are back on our own feet, we shall be moving into the old Stewart house in Silverwood.
So yeah, I has house. :D!!!!!
