Ummmm...holy shit. So I have to say, if the rest of the episodes go like this, then Supernatural has to be picked up again. Seriously. You cannot just let a plot like this dwindle off. Of course, there are two more episodes to look forward to before we find out, yes? Anyway.
Soo...honestly...at first I thought Bobby was going after some spirit or ghost. Possibly even demons, just because we get this view of this woman so quickly, it instantly reminded me of the demon that killed Lily and Andy in 2x21. But yeah, interesting way how he's found...in a hotel. And yes, he was onto the something.
I must say though, based on the whole article of the doctor and how he "went to sleep," it really didn't surprise me how he died. I mean we have Dean getting his research and whether he went to every subject or not, who knows. He goes to the "stoner" and immediately, he looked like a psycho, so he had to be related to some part of this job. I mean...the way he just asked Dean if he wanted a beer, the way he was watching him...it was so creepy. Almost like Andy's twin brother Anson. There will always be some trouble guys who always want something...whether it's power to manipulate people or to even dream. People have problems and people go crazy.
I think what surprised me the most was Bobby's past and how he got into hunting because of his wife. I assume she still haunts him in his sleep, but to see it in full-scale was just like...wow. Demons have been around for a long time. And apparently, they've strived to ruin the lives of people and their loved ones, potentially killing them. You know, it's no wonder John must have trusted him with Dean and Sam, just because they both were in the same boat. They know what it feels like to lose someone, to be helpless. Bobby certainly knew what demons were, but not to kill one, as he probably never has. And if he knew about exorcisms, it probably wouldn't have done much. I'm still going to look more into demonology, just because ever since 3x09's Malleus Maleficarum, we keep finding out more about demons, both literally and metaphorically. I like it.
Sam and his little fantasy of Bela! I have no idea what that was about but he was oh-so hot and bothered! I love flustered Sammy! I was waiting for a deja vu to happen when Dean opened the door for her in real life. For a minute, I really though the stoner dude was controlling the dream but never mind. Don't tell me that something is suppose to go on with Bela and Sam though...because that...well I can't really see that. Bitch. Thanks Bela, for stealing the Colt. And for being an absolute whore. Either a. someone forgot to lock that safe, or b. she has ways to break in. I think it could be both, but maybe the latter. Seriously, if she knew what the thing could do. I hope Ruby comes into to fix things up. Or maybe there will be some cat fight. Eh...whatevs, yo.
I do like how Dean is in this episode. Not only to make Bobby snap out of things, but for Dean to confront himself. To have a second thought about his life, what he stands for and what he will become. Can he accept that? Can he accept that he will go to hell and be a demon, something that he has been fight against because of what the YED did to his mother? And what the YED did to Sam? I find it interesting how demonology is intertwined in the plot since the very beginning, just because we know Sam has been once possessed before. Dean will become one because he sold his soul. Being possessed is different from being a demon, since possession is just for the need of having a host.
Does that mean Ruby is who she is when she helps Sam and Dean out, or is it just her talking through someone? Do demons have the power to keep their bodies, now that over two hundred are free from hell? Seems like these demons now are more than ordinary, aside from the YED and the other BEDs we've seen previously.
And about Sam...mind control much? Was he able to fight back because he's special or because he's a booksmart and realized he had the power to do so? I would usually say the latter but the only reason I question this is because of how Sam has been acting ever since this season started. Sam is more vicious and aggressive, and whether this is because he wants to save Dean and kick arse, I have no idea. Still, I kind of wonder what Dean wonders: if Sam is truly Sam after coming back from the dead. Can demons keep parts of souls? Would they actually bargain to allow someone to live again, letting a good soul slip away?
All I can say is that I am soooo excited for next week's episode. For reals. Sam's worst nightmare as a follow up to Dean's. I love this show.
