Okay...so let me say that "The Magnificent Seven" wasn't exactly a great start for me, maybe mostly because we've dealt with the demons and all that and it just wasn't surprising. I thought that episode was decent, so naturally, I thought that this next episode was going to be like that. Not only was a completely wrong, but Kripke, Manners and the whole crew have surprised me yet again. Yes, I feel like a hypocrite for putting them down for a shaky start...but holy hell! I loved this episode because it was so creeepy and good! Anyway...on to the review!
I'll say the beginning was a blahhh. When the dad was in the garage, I honestly thought this might be a demon case, probably because of the clock. But maybe the lights would have been flickering more and surely they wouldn't have given the POV of a creature...key word would be a creature watching him and then killing him. So basically...I'm assuming that the interest is focused on mothers if all these guys are getting killed.
I still love Dean's spirit about everything. I can see right through it, but I think he knows that now...just maybe he can do a little more with himself besides hunt. Sure...maybe he loves sex a bittoo much but meh...that blows over once he starts this case. He still has to worry but he's a little more relaxed, now that Sam is alive. And you know, I'm glad that seeing the dead guy in the paper lured him to where Lisa was. Great excuse for a case.
Ben is soooooo cuteee! Omg...I can totally see mini!Dean right there...and imagine if Dean was like that when he was little. I know Mary and John would totally oppose but seriously...he even checks out hot chicks and says the word "bitch." Ummm I want my kid to listen to AC/AC. I like how all the boys end up liking Dean. That I remember...girls aren't really attracted to him as much...go figs.
Okay...that girl Katie...is creepy. It reminds me soo much of "Provenance," like the girl from the portrait. The only difference is that she isn't a spirit and she actually talks. And has temper-tantrums. And I have no idea why her mom almost resembles Madison from "Heart" when she cries. Maybe I keep reflecting back on previous seasons too much but what can ya do? It's been literally two months since new SPN episodes.
Okay, so Ruby...is kind of pissing me off. You almost think she's trying to hit on Sam...but I know she's not. But like gahh...I see bitch-alert coming. She reminds me of those deal-making demons...only in hunter clothes. Katie Cassidy actually does a great job in embracing her character though. So I'm really not opposed to this "adding new females" thing now. I can see that it works. Good for you Kripke! But Mary's friends....say what? Dead maybe?
I am sooo sorry, but Ben...beating up that kid...this is why I love Dean Winchester, ladies and gentlemen! He not only does he have a mini clone, but his mini clone actually loves him. That hug...so cute! And gods Lisa, give Dean a break! He has been through a lot...and you should be surprised that he didn't wanna just band you already. I mean he did that eight years ago, but he wasn't hitting on you again! He came to town for an actual reason!
Okay...now with Katie coming back from the water after her mom drowned her...is scary. I'm sorry...not only is she manipulative and disturbed but wtf. That just makes me not want to have kids. Like ever. Oh my god.
Changelings are freaking faeries? Trolls? Wtf?!! And in art books they make them so pretty! I mean if you look at Amy Brown's art of them...some are pretty and some are ugly. But then again...it shows that they aren't so nice after all...maybe a bit deviant. But their reflections definitely do not look like monsters that should be sucked by the Ghost Busters. They're like Scylla of The Odyssey. Or something...I have no idea. Nice work, Sammy...taking the cue of the blood...or whatever that is. Reminds me of "Something Wicked," with that Strigra flying from window to window.
Omg...Lisaaa! Listen to Dean...he knows something! He knows Ben is not Ben and ahhh! Kind of serves you right to see for yourself that your "son" would like to trap you so you can get eaten. And omg...the freaking real estate agent! OH MY GOD...no wonder she ated all nice and sketchy. Kids in cages...and geez, this really is like a Brothers Grimm story. Wow. I love how Ben takes charge to get the kids out and you know...I kind of liked how the boys go their arses kicked before they destroyed the chief Changeling. And if Dean was Ben's dad...how ridic would that be? OMG soo cute!
Ummm...holy crap! Ruby...Mary...say what? So okay...Mary new the YED...and he killed her. Did he have any other connection to her, maybe because of her friends? If they were all killed one by one...and by different symptoms...what does that mean? Do they have children...and does that mean that they are dead special children? Or have they all become demons...like the ones that either got released or trapped in Hell's gate in Wyoming?
And Ruby is a demon herself! WHATTT?! That kind of surprised me by a lot. I was soo ready for Sammy to take her down...but the catch...saving Dean. She's onto something...but what? Why would she care about the YED's work? If she's a regular demon...how important was she in Hell? She obviously had to have escaped...and she knows a lot. And where's her knife? Man...I feel so bad for Sammy...torn...because a. he obviously wants to live, b. he hates demons and wants them to die but c. he needs Dean to live. And you can add d. that the demon army has to go down. I wish there was more Sammy. But from the promos of I think s3X04, there might be a lot more Sammy action rather than Dean.
So many questions and ahhh! Wow. Looking forward to the next episode..where Bella comes in. OH MANNNN!
