HP crazzzayyy!

So ever since yesterday, I think I have gone into this phase where I am finally getting excited about both the Harry Potter movie and the book. I'm kind of surprised that didn't come sooner. But I'm making my way with my fic that was for summerwriting. I have no idea how long it's going to be but so far, I really like where it's heading. Trying to finish it before the 21st, so if I write every day (which will be impossible when I'm gone for Martha's Vineyard in a few weeks), then I might be able to send it off to a beta by then. And I will make sure I finish that fic before reading Deathly Hallows. And I will remove myself from HP fanfiction so I do not get spoiled again. Although, I do know about that major book spoilers now since some asshat from my uni decided to post it up in our lj community.

With my book preordered, I just have to order tickets online for me and the kids and we'll be set for an extravaganza! I'm thinking about dressing up, no matter what. Either as Romilda Vane or Cho Chang. It depends if I get this Ravenclaw sweatshirt from Ebay. If not, I'm more than happy to go out in full costume or else as a crazy HP fan with my HP purse, my wand, and my Fluffy T-shirt.

I am now thinking about going to either Portus 2008 or Terminus 2008. Portus is in Dallas, TX, while Terminus is in Chicago, IL. I'm still trying to figure out if I'll be able to get my license by then. I could drive to Texas, but it might be a long way. Chicago...just makes me iffy. But I mean, for either one, I can take the plane, then take either the bus or train to the hotel and where each symposium is at. I would prefer if someone went with me, but I can't exactly force people, can I?. And if I did have my license, I still need a car.

I really want to go Portus more...maybe because after my SPN paper about H.H. Holmes' Murder Castle, I'm like scared to stay in hotels in Chicago. Lol. But registration is for a cheap price for both and it has started already! I will have more than enough money at least by fall semester in case I end up registering in advance. And, it would make up for what I missed at the Witching Hour in 2005. I think I deserve to go to at least one place where I can actually talk to people who are just as enthusiastic about HP as I am. And they won't mock me for being such a dork. I shall look over more details, but if anyone is thinking about going to Portus or Terminus, drop a line!
