Life is so unfair.

Ashley Townsend is a good person, so is the 5 year old girl she hit.. and killed today at 3:30 in the afternoon.

Rachel had just picked me up from school. I was flirting with boys and admiring my camera phone. The little stresses of my life such as getting my new scratch on my cell phone seem so insignificant now that this has happened.

We found out at dinner. Courtney (Rachel's friend Courtney-- not Capps), got a phone call from her best friend, Ashley's, boyfriend. Ashley had hit a young girl on her way to a conference. She had run a red light, and was oblivious to this due to the fact she was on her cell phone. She killed the 5 year old.

Ashley (my sister) and I have met Ashley Townsend. She acted with Courtney in one of her plays. An aspiring actress, her life will be forever shaken--- forver she will have to live with the fact that she killed this child... and the child's mom saw it all happen.

Ashley Townsend is a good person, though. And she's devestated. Emotionally shook up. I just hope she knows that... no matter WHAT... God and her friends will always love her. This could have happened to ANYONE.

I saw it on the news. It was the "big story" of the night. It made me sick. They showed the stroller that the baby was in. (The five year old was walking, and the 2 year old was in the stroller.) The 2 year old was critically injured, and is now in critical condition in the ORMC. The news made Ashley out to be some big bad murderer. That made me sick as well.

I feel horrible for everyone involved. Ashley, the mom who saw it, the child's family, Ashley's family who has to some how tell her that it is OKAY.. even though she could be tried with manslaughter.

Life's not fair. Andt this is yet another incident that puts things into perspective I suppose.
