Dear Nishikido Ryo,
Ryo was running as fast as he could. Even though his lungs were about to give out on him, he did not stop.
As you know I am getting married next week.
And you can say its a bad timing and I am being a coward for telling you this in a letter but...
Ryo climbed the steep stairs and finally found himself at the front of the church.
I have loved you for the longest time...
He saw people arriving for the event and he knew in his heart, he had to stop the love of his life from making a big mistake.
For the past 5 years, I have shamelessly acted stupid to gain your attention.
Even though those times were embarrassing, I never regret a moment.
Ryo quickly sneaked in from the side entrance and walked pass the eloquently decorated cathedral. He was not mistaken. From all the white roses and crystal ornaments, this was Ueda’s wedding.
And even when there were moments when my heart was broken...
Like when you bring home a girl to our apartment...
I simply smiled and prayed that you will realize how I feel.
I guess I was too naive to think you could love me back.
He felt completely lost, not knowing which way to go or where Tatsuya was. Ryo swiftly hide behind a pillar when he saw members of KAT-TUN standing by a door.
People have always asked me why do I like Nishikido Ryo?
Well, to put it to simple words..
Ryo is a kind person even though he is thorny and awkward.
“What’s with the sigh, Nakamaru?” Koki asked while straightening his black tie.
“Nothing…I’m just not sure if Ueda is doing the best thing…” Nakamaru trailed off, crossing his arm.
“Well, this is what Ueda decided to do…He needs a fresh start after…you know..” Kame injected as the 3 members walked away from the door and down the church’s corridor.
“I know… I just can’t believe this is happening…On a more positive note, Tacchan looks handsome in his tux.” Nakamaru replied with optimism laced with a hint of dejection.
The painful truth is that there's nothing you can do to make someone fall in love with you.
All you can do is put yourself out there and be yourself and hopefully, they will like you back.
In short, I could be pretty, charming, smart, funny, kind or know how to cook..
but still you won't love me back, right?
Ryo peeked out from behind the pillar. After making sure there was no one, he marched towards the door and did not hesitate to knock it.
“Come in.” a melodic voice replied.
With that, Ryo’s heart started racing again as he turned the knob, revealing the most gorgeous creature God had ever created.
Because love is blind and completely doesn't make sense most of the time.
Ueda’s eyes widened when he saw the man stood before him, dishiveled and sweating. His mind could not believe what he was seeing and his heart was in denial, thinking it was his imagination. At that moment, Ryo felt time stood still.
Upon this realisation, I remembered crying the whole day when you were away for work.
I remembered how the tears won't stop flowing even after I have finally accepted the truth.
“Ryo…” Tatsuya murmured, breaking the silence with tears threatening to form in his brown orbs.
The truth that I was nothing more than your friend.
“Tatsuya…” Ryo replied, taking in the older man’s beauty. He could not breathe and his mind went numb for a moment.
Which is why, I have accepted a proposal from my father's friend's daughter.
She is a pleasant girl and I am sure that I will be able to love her one day.
Nonetheless, I should feel happy and blessed because...
for once in my life, someone loves me.
“Please… don’t get married. I beg you.” Ryo pleaded, still panting from all the running.
“Ryo… you have to leave.” Tatsuya said, still recovering from his shock and walked to the other side of the room and away from him. Ryo followed him nonetheless and took a crumpled up note from his pocket.
“I got your letter…” he said with a small sense of hopefulness, and showed Tatsuya the letter he wrote before he left. Tatsuya stopped his track and turned around, staring at the younger man with embarrassment.
“I see…” he replied softly, fiddling with his cufflink.
“Hime… listen to me carefully…” Ryo boldly strode towards the enthralled groom and cupped his face, staring into his beauty’s eyes with his own pair of piercing onyx orbs.
Ryo, I wish you all the best.
I pray that your future spouse will love you just as much as I do and hopefully even more.
I also pray that he or she will love you for who you truly are.
“I love you too.” He said huskily. “So please, let me rescue my Hime from making the biggest mistake of his life. Will you come with me?”
He held out his hand to Ueda.Tatsuya looked at his outstretched hand and back at Ryo’s face in disbelief before taking his hand and entwining their long fingers together.
“In a heartbeat…” he whispered, face tinted with redness.
.
Not the actor on our tv screen.
The sun was about to set, casting it’s orange rays through the sakura trees as they rode on a red vespa scooter down the empty country road.
“Where are we going?” Ueda asked, clutching Ryo's waist tightly with his arm and wind blowing through their faces.
“Back to my kingdom!” Ryo answered teasingly.
“Kingdom? Osaka?” Tatsuya replied in confusion.
Nor as a johnny.
“Yup! I’m your prince remember? And you’re my princess.” Ryo said, smirking sexily which did not go unnoticed by his passenger.
“Princess? I’m the one in a white tux remember? You should be the princess and wear a wedding dress.” Tatsuya rolled his eyes.
Just simply Nishikido Ryo.
Like a fairytale ending, the two lovers rode off to the sunset and into a new chapter of their new found happiness.
Love,
Ueda Tatsuya
