Currently I am at work, sitting at my desk as I type this. I'm beyond exhausted because I decided to go out last night with some people from work and ended up not going to bed until 2am. I take comfort in the fact that I know I am not the only one who is tired. :)

I don't believe I mentioned this before but since I keep talking about work I will explain what I do. My university is known for their Co-op program, which basically means you get paid to go and work for 6 months in a environment related to what you are studying. This is considered part of your undergrad program and you get credit for working. This is what I am doing now. I have been working since January for full-time, so obviously I have not taken any classes this semester. I currently work in a research lab, doing research on Arthritis in both human and mouse models. It's pretty cool because I get to be in a lab environment, work with mice, and learn different lab techniques. On a completely different side I get to go over to the hospital and meet with people that have Arthritis and talk to them about their past medical history, how they deal with it, etc ,, and try and recruit them for a study. Heh. It is all very interesting and I think has helped solidify the fact that I want to go into a research career.
Since I am writing about work I have to mention the people that I work with. Everyone is super friendly and immediately very welcoming. I have a nice group of friends here that I can take coffee breaks with in the afternoon, or go to the pub with after work. It's gotten to the point now where we have all started hanging out on the weekends as well as just during the week. At first I was a little wary, because I am the youngest person currently here in the lab. A lot of the people here are either PhD students or Post-Docs. But honestly, that was just me being insecure, it totally doesn't matter what age everyone is, and I love it! I'm getting sad because I only have 2 more weeks left in the lab and then it's time to leave and head back to classes! Booooo! :(

On another note I met a guy on the T last week. It was a very odd encounter just because I wasn't giving off a 'come talk to me' vibes. First of all, I was listening to my ipod. When someone is listening to music it is kind of a clear sign that they don't want anyone to bother them. That is why I listen to music so I don't have to listen/pay attention to all the other passengers on the train. Anyway, I was listening to music and I felt someone tap my shoulder and it was this guy. He started talking to me about how he doesn't know me but just wanted to say hi. It was very weird, but he seemed nice enough. We started talking and I find out that he's a student and goes to BU and is a little bit older than me. Before he got off he asked for my number. I don't normally give my number to strange guys I meet on the T, but I figured what the hell? So, he called 2 days later asking if we could meet up. I was busy at the time, and he is leaving to go to England today actually for 2 weeks. When he gets back, I then leave to go to England. He said he would keep in touch and that hopefully we can meet up when I get back from England. So, we'll see.

On a random note I decided to comprise a list of my pet peeves or rather things that annoy me. I don't want to sound like a cynical, bitter person because I'm not. But I thought it would be fun to compose a list and see if the same things bother other people. They are in no particular order.

1. People who walk slow during rush hour. When I am trying to get to work in the morning along with tons of other people, don't walk at a snail's pace! Be aware of what is going on around you. If you want to walk slow, move out of the way!
2. People who talk loudly on the phone while on the T. Why do some people insist on letting everyone in the train know about their personal life? We don't care, and frankly it's just annoying. Some people are traveling home after working and want to do so in peace.
3. People who don't signal before they turn. I think this one speaks for itself.
4. People who don't know how to be on time. If you are only going to be five minutes late fine, but if you're consistently late, ugh!! I have a friend who is like this, and it has gotten to the point where we tell her a completely different time from the time we actually want to meet.
5. People who talk during movies/and or TV shows. Especially when I haven't seen them before, and they know this!! I'm talking about friends in this instance, but it applies to strangers too. Especially in the movie theater!

Hrmm, that's all I have for now. I'll update when I think of other things!
