House hunting
So I've decided to move out with a mate from work and her boyfriend. We're going to look for 3BR houses with hopefully two bathrooms around Caulfield/Oakleigh. We're looking to pay $1800-2400 a month, although the 2400 is on the high side.
I checked out a place near huntington (or was it huntingdale...) station (the one after oakleigh. There aren't any shops there. That immediately ruled out this place in my head. It took only 15 mins to walk to the house. The house was good for what we wanted (ie room and decent living). But it took 25 mins to walk to oakleigh shops=bad. I don't have a car so that is bad. Yes I could take the bus to go shopping...but at the same time...foot access is very important to me.
I had fun researching what is available at the Oakleigh shops. I had fun and found some nice bargains at the Salvos there and located the cafe strip that my new flatmates and I would love. I also discovered that it's got a huge wog presence, in particular Greeks. There's a Greek supermarket which is awesome...i don't have to go to Vic market to get those weird European things I love but don't know the name of. Conversly, there's aslo a comprehensive Asian supermarket, so I can get my favourite chinese vegies easily! There's also a Chinese, two Thai, one Afghan/Persian restaurant there. I'm looking forward to checking those out too.
Oh yeah, and I'm looking forward to the delights of Chaddy soon!
