I've been wearing hijab for about five years now, and only been wearing lolita for about a year. Although I came across lolita fashion forever ago, not everything works for me as a practising Muslim, thus I try to see what is better ~hence not wearing it all the time ^^;
You say you have to keep your faith a secret. I'm curious, why is that? I know things can be difficult, but a belief in something can help us get by. If you are truly interested in Islam, you can always do baby steps ~they work the best! Take things one step at a time, and ask for assistance if need be. (Feel free to ask me, and I will try my best to provide an answer.) You can wear the hijab bit by bit, like wear it for a few hours each day and keep upping that number. In time, you will feel more comfortable wearing it etc.

When I told my mother about my conversion back in September, she told me I could "move the hell out." As I had no money and no place to go, I stayed. . . And, so, I have to practice in secret. >_< I've thought about sneaking around to masjid and stuff, or trying to wear hijab out in public when I don't see a chance of seeing my parents, but it seems too risky. Maybe after I graduate college, I'll be able to express myself better, God willing.

I understand the predicament you are in, and so I shall not cause any trouble *hug* It is just a shame your family are not to happy about it. Hopefully in time, they will understand and welcome the idea. If you ever need to ask me anything, do not hesitate to ask. Private messages are a good way to communicate :) hehe
