Snow World

So I planned on going snowboarding today, but seeing as how I stayed up till almost 5am, I knew I wouldn't be able to wake up by 8am. So I woke up at 10:30 but wasn't able to get out of bed till 11:30. I ran by the bakery where I work for brunch, but they were so busy that they put me to work! I finally got to the mountain at about 1:30. (I'm NEVER on time...no matter how hard I try) So I'm walking up toward the lodge and some guy yells "hey, you need a lift ticket??" And I was like..."uhh...yes...which is why I'm headed to the lodge place." And he said he was leaving and gave me his all-day, all-lift pass! So I didn't have to pay a penny. It was SO great. Then I warmed up on the bunny/beginner hill (1,500 feet) a couple times and saw my friend Drew. Soon I started feeling adventurous and decided to go to the TOP. Yes...the top of the Sandia Peak. (7,500 feet) So I get on the lift with some strange guy and it was SO awkward. He was a round, fuzzy, mountain-man looking type guy on skis who kept trying to make small talk. Finally I got to the top...I tried to stay near the ski lift so I would have some idea of where I was going and how to get back to the bottom, but I started going REALLY fast about half way down and took a wrong turn. Thankfully I'm pretty skilled at falling over to stop, so I didn't fly off the edge of the cliff. But I was close enough to have my heart pumping. So I realize I'm on one of the second to hardest trails (Double Eagle) and that there's no way to get onto an easier one 'cause I passed the nearest turn-off. So I just keept plowing along hoping not to run off any drops or jumps or "Suicide" hills...which is what they're called...'cause they're SO lumpy and steep. So I eventually made it to the bottom...alive...all by myself. :) SO much fun. Then it began to snow and it was So beautiful. It was most certainly a winter wonderland. 3 hours of snowboarding sure tires one out...I can't wait to go again!!!
