We had a bit of an animal day today. First we popped up to Dogs4us in pendlebury to have a look at some of the pups. I fell in love with practically every one of them and wanted to buy them all. I would never seriously buy a dog from there though, they're all just runts of litters that breeders couldnt get rid of.

Then we went to a persons house to look at some rex rabbits that she was selling. We have now decided to expand from breeding mini lop and mini lionheads to include mini rex as well. We already had one mini rex but had no buck for her to go to. This woman had some lovely rex's and although I only intended to go for a buck I ended up coming home with two, a doe as well. She really is gorgeous though, I dont think anyone would have been able to resist her, plus she is pregnant and is due to have babies in about 5 days time.

We also tried to mate the hedgehogs but it didnt go very well. The female was very interested in the male, but she has been bred before so she knew what to do, but the male hasnt been with another hedgehog since he was born. He is such a big whimp and just ran around grunting at her and tried to bite her (which obviously wasnt a good idea because she has spikes and he kept prickling himself). We'll keep trying though until it happens.

I have been uploading some pictures to photo bucket as well for you to all admire my gorgeous animals hehe.

This is Hazel, our gorgeous chocolate rex that we have had for about 4 months now. Her colour is a bit patchy here but it's smoothed out now - now she is a lovely deep chocolaty colour all over.

This is Otis, the male I went to get today before I came home with two. He's still only a baby really but he's lovely. His colour is called Castor.

This is Misty (though her name may change). She's the doe I fell in love with and couldnt help but bring home. Her colour is amazing and she's so soft.

And here are my hedgehogs. This first one is Dudley, my grumpy male.

And finally this is Pip, she's gorgeous and so friendly.

So, just a few pics there to bore you all hehe. Better get back to my seminar work for uni tomorrow now.
