It's been another busy week this week. I dont seem to have gotten out of the car at all this week. Friday we drove all the way to Leeds from Uni and stayed overnight so that on saturday we could drive to Yorkshire and pick up the hedgehog. Then we drove all the way home again, it was a very long drive.
Then Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday we were in uni, but we only ever seemed to be in for about an hour so we seemed to spend longer driving than we did out of the car. Then as soon as we got back on wednesday we got a call off ric's sister asking if we could pick her up from leeds because her and darryll desperately needed to come home and the trains had been cancelled because of the floods. So we set off all the way back to leeds, in the pooring rain which was pretty scary because you really couldnt see anything at all.
Anyway, we got back very late wednesday night and then got up this morning and drove all the way to chatsworth to meet another hedgehog breeder. It was a bit of a pain finding her but we did it in the end. It was a long drive. Then I have to get up tomorrow and drive all the way to uni again.
And finally, to finish off my driving week I am off to Harrogate on Saturday and is it NATIONAL RABBIT WEEK this week and it is ending with a big show in harrogate with lots and lots of breeders and things going so we are hoping to pick up another female rabbit. It should be a really good day and i think we'll end up spending too much money as usual.
Anyway, the two hedgehogs are doing really well. They are so unbelievably cute and have such little personalities. The little guy (Dudley) that we got at weekend is a bit fat though because the poor guy has been fed on full fat cat food when its only supposed to be the light one, and has never had a wheel to run on. I dont think the lady who was looking after him new what she was doing. He's really happy now though and comes out every night to run on his wheel. He loves playing with his little jingle balls too and his little cuddly toy. He;s not very tame to pick up but we'll get there with him - its just a bit scary incase you get spiked.
The girl that we picked up today is really really cute, a lot thinner and a lot more active. She's a bit tamer but needs time to settle in before we can start trying to pick her up and things.
Hopefully we'll leave them to settle in for about a week or so and then we'll try putting them together. Then it'll just be 4/5 weeks until we have baby hogs. I'm a bit scared, but Im hoping it will all go well.
I have had a new litter of rabbits born today too, but im so scared that they are all going to die because the weather is so bloody cold. I bought the mum a nice cosy house to build her nest in and have her babies in but she's had them at the other side of the hutc, typical!
