(no subject)
Last week was good. Sarah and rachel came to Lancaster and it was nice to see them both again. We had a nice meal cooked by Ric on the Thursday with some friends for uni and it feels like it's been ages since we've done all that. I feel like I can relax for the summer now, but I have just bee so busy I've not had chance.
Didn't do much over the weekend. Had lots of people coming around to see the rabbits but that's about it.
I now have a new business venture to make me some more money over summer. I have had loads of people emailing me recently asking if I could recommend a good place for them to leave their rabbits whilst they are away on holiday. I wasn't going to bother doing anything myself but now I don't think I've got that job I applied for I decided I would. So, I am pleased to introduce Sunflower Hotel hehe.
I already have my first booking from 8th August - 26th August for 2 maybe 3 rabbits which is good. I will be able to look after rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, gerbils, mice, rats and even small birds while people are away. Hopefully people will know they are being well looked after. The woman who got me started on it is being really really nice and very helpful. We are asking people to bring their own cages wherever possible but I understand that in some cases people don't have suitable rabbit cages they want to bring, and I didn't want to go out and buy too many cos it would cost too much and what would I do with them all afterwards?
Anyway, my first customer has bought 3 rabbits from us in the past and has said she'd love us to look after them. She is going out to buy 2 indoor cages, as she says she needs them for winter anyway, but she says we can use them up until winter, which is great. This means we don't have to buy as many. I said I would offer her a big discount on her rabbits' stay here but she keeps saying no, we would just be doing her a big favour looking after her rabbits.
I think it will be exciting. I get to look after lots more rabbits, hopefully, and I really really wanna look after at least one guinea pig cos I've not had a guinea pig since I was little. I have set up a new page on our website (go and see its good www.sunflowernurseryrabbits.co.uk) and have posted on lots of classifieds. Hopefully I'll get some response and if we get at least a couple more bookings I can get things sorted.
I have been spending too much time on the rabbits though and not enough sorting my dissertation out but there is so much to sort out if we want to make it work over summer that i can't tear myself away. I think I must though. I might email my tutor today and see what he says.
