I am doing a truly lousy job of keeping up with this journal.
Went to the Gulf Coast.
Took Juniper Pearlington Grace to the town of Pearlington (her namesake). The peoples, dey did de flip out over our baby named after their little tiny town. Was good. News story here:
http://www.sunherald.com/201/story/454914.htmlI picked up a ridiculous Scarlett O'Hara accent there that I couldn't shake the whole time, but the second I got off the plane here, it went away. Weird, eh?
Spent five days in New Orleans. Ate wayyy too much. My heavens, but those are some fried-meat-eatin' fools down there. I swear they don't know what vegetables are. We attended a wedding and - I'm not kidding - every single thing that was served was meat or shellfish. Not a vegetable in sight.
Feel really lucky to have a baby that can go from living in a swamp in an RV to five days in a hotel room and be just fine. She got a little grumpy, and since she was sleeping with us on the trip she tarted waking up several times a night again...but then we found out our hotel had cribs, and once we put her back in it, she returned to her sleeping-12-hours habits. Funny how devoted I was to co-sleeping before I discovered that she slept so much better on her own...anyway she did adjust really really well to all the travel, considering. And she does so well on planes...which is going to be a blessing this fall when we go on our honeymoon to France and take her with us!
Anyway, now we're home and I'm so slammed at work...and my computer died so I got a loaner, and that one died too, so I'm on a loaner loaner and a bunch of programs don't run (all calendars crash upon opening) so I'm without calendars...THEN while on my trip my iPhone died too...so I'm in a bit of a technology black hole, to be sure. It's very very very strange.
Stream of consciousness! Man, I guess writing 140 character Twitters and being in such a hurry all the time is taking its toll on my writing abilities. Sorry, pals. Life's too busy to really concentrate.
