Thought I'd share it here too.
Shadows
Each night I watch my bedroom wall
in time to see the shadows fall.
They gather darkly 'round my bed
and reach their tendrils toward my head.
So under blankets I retreat,
they cannot get me through the sheet!
I'm pretty sure they mean my doom,
I want them banished from my room.
I thought I'd foil them by decoy
and so went looking for a toy.
I bought a bear of fibers soft
and held the fuzzy thing aloft.
I heard a most unholy roar
and thought my decoy was no more.
But as I peeked, what I saw there
was just a subtly fatter bear.
So heed ye well my words of warning,
plush toys will keep you safe 'till morning!
