Minus basically an inch all around and 6 lbs after week one of the diet and exercise plan. Cheated once - had a cookie. Realized the cookie didn't taste that fantastic.
Best meals of the diet:
Diced tomatoes with mushrooms, zucchini, and red peppers with chicken and assorted herbs.
Fajita style chicken and peppers cooked in chicken broth and assorted spices with a tablespoon of flaxseed oil and served on a bed of greens.
Smoothies.
Organic grapefruit from Texas.
Other benefits to the diet: DETOX. Increased energy and healthful feel.
After week one I give the diet a 9/10 (I don't know if there ever will be a diet that earns a 10) because it isn't a hard diet to follow - minus the psyllium husks mixture being a bit vomit-worthy - and it has made me realize that my dependence on bad sweets (not fruit) and carbs and dairy was unnecessary - I don't crave these things. I find that what I really crave, when I do, is something hearty and filling and flavorful like the fajita style chicken and peppers or something sweet and juicy like an asian pear, a cup of blueberries, or a half a grapefruit. I've also managed to pare down my serving sizes to much healthier portions. A habit that will benefit me for the rest of my life, so long as I don't somehow break into some worse habits again.
My most common "cheat" on the diet? A carrot.
How do I feel about not drinking? At first it was weird to be out in the bar scene without a gin and tonic in hand, but having found that I don't need the liquid courage to have a good time out on the town, the water keeps me energized and aware so I am able to see more clearly all that occurs, be witty in my remarks, and better analyze all occurrences.
Do I recommend this diet? So far, yes.
