It almost seems their lives are reversed, AmberOlivia grew up with knowledge of what had happened to her and in a relatively safe and secure environment but her adult life lacks whereas BlueOlivia didn't grow up with that but her adult life has those things that may terrify her but that she's always wanted.

I REALLY REALLY like this point. It's so true. And like you said, I do think the show is trying to show us that they're not quite the same person and yet they are -- there are subtle differences that make them the same Olivia at the core of it (this woman just trying to find her place in the world and longing to be normal). Alt!livia versus Amber or BlueOlivia, on the other hand, are really different people because Alt!livia has a confidence and "swagger" (as Anna Torv once put it) to her that the two other Olivias lack. She's not plagued by doubts and uncertainty. She feels true camaraderie with the rest of Fringe Division (alt!Lincon and alt!Charlie), and is content in her relationship with Frank. She doesn't have the emotional vulnerability issues that both Amber and BlueOlivia have.

Peter filled a hole in BlueOlivia's life and I think he's the person to fill the hole in AmberOlivia's too. They're meant-to-be in the Fringe science way aka quantum entanglement (reaching to each other across time and space!)

I think it's also important to note that this Peter who reappeared in the AmberVerse isn't necessarily the same BluePeter that we know and love since he came from the future that never was (and must have those memories still -- to know why he went back and rewrote things and that Walter helped him do it). Maybe what Peter needs to realize is that if Olivia isn't quite the person he remembers (and is he remembering Olivia his wife from the future too I'm guessing?) then he isn't quite the person he used to be either because of the rewrite etc.

But they're both still their universe's version of themselves, an iteration of the same person rather than actually an alternate version if that makes any sense (now I'm just playing semantics though I guess).

ANYWAYS, all of this yes, will be alot easier if Olivia just regains her memories. And I think that she HAS to at least in part, because then all that hard-earned character development from the past three seasons is just meaningless and the producers have assured us that they're not just erasing those seasons or characters (except Peter did, what?! :P)

So that makes me think that they've been experimenting on her still, without her knowledge, had stopped for awhile for some reason and are now doing it again. Maybe Nina knows something about the other time line that we don't.

Yeah, I got the same impression that they'd stopped (hence the lack of headaches for awhile) and then started again. And Nina might not necessarily know about the other timeline (I don't see how she could?) but definitely something about the other universe (which maybe is why next week goes to the AU -- this is kind of a transition to that and this ongoing "war" even though there's a "truce") Of course, whatever Nina is doing could still be interfering with Olivia's memory but Nina might not be conscious that she is blocking those memories.

And yes, they must be bringing back DRJ for a key purpose. He's too awesome to not be used in a way that is really crucial to the plot and mythology of the show.

And no worries about the novel reply -- mine was a novel post & I really wanted to hear what others had to say in response! I enjoy that we can go back and forth about this! :)

I think this Peter is the BluePeter. They brought BluePeter's consciousness forward in time to himself in 2026, BluePeter saw all the devastation, saw that Olivia had been killed etc... and he was able to return to 2011 and he made a different choice than the last time, this time choosing to bridge the gap between the two universes instead of destroying the other one. That's what he was always meant to do. Once he did it, he "served his purpose" and vanished from existence as he was never supposed to have existed and he was the only one who could fix the problems between both universes. This Peter, to me at least, is the same as BluePeter. He has all the memories and experiences of not only his life before but what he experienced while in 2026. And that future in 2026, doesn't exist anymore, it's something new and unknown now since he changed the course of what happened.

Saying Nina knows about the other Time Line is a bit of a stretch, I'm not sure how she could know either, but she definitely knows something. That's a good point, whatever Nina is doing to Olivia maybe be for another purpose entirely and she wouldn't know that doing that is blocking access to those memories. I also think DRJ will play an important part with helping Olivia to remember. I just wish she would remember now dammit! :P

Indeed, Fringe speculation is fun :D

*Edited to fix something that didn't make much sense :P
