But yes, I think that Peter is extremely susceptible to being blinded or manipulated by love, especially when it comes to the women in his life and it was important for me to underscore that as something that started in childhood and not just adulthood. Peter, despite his IQ, is very much like his father in that he is ultimately ruled by his heart and not his mind.
And I'm so pleased to hear that you liked Peter reading Olivia's account of her time Over There. :) I feel that the effects of Olivia's torture Over There is something that got pushed aside in S3 with the revelation of Peter's relationship with Fauxlivia, so it was important for me to address that here. It's just one of many things they won't talk about, or that we didn't get to see them talk about, but that is something that is definitely in the air between them (along with our own Walter's treatment of Olivia as a child) -- particularly at this time.
Can't wait for S4! =)
