Things have finally calmed down enough so that I can update everyone. This semester was full of excitement, frustration, laughter, and tears. I welcomed the experience teaching high schoolers with open arms and lets just say that I was also thankful that the experience was over. I enjoyed my time but know that it is not the right fit for me. I am looking forward to the coming semester where I will be working with kindergartners in a diverse setting. My only apprehension comes with making the jump from 18 year old students to 5 year old students.
Hopefully this summer will make the transition go smoother. I will be returning to work at the YMCA. However, I will be working at the Forest Hills Y and not the Caledonia Y. I will be working with two guys, which I am pretty excited about. They are easier to work with in my opinion, and I think it will be beneficial for the kids as well. I will also be taking care of a 10 year old autistic child a few days a week. I am looking forward to that experience!
Borris (the kitty) is doing well. Still no symptoms from his heart condition. I guess I am just thankful to have him around. There is something to say about having a pet to come home to every day. It makes life a little more enjoyable.
Joe is doing really great at work. He will be starting to work on his own this week, and I know he will succeed. Being a loan officer is his dream job and to him, there are no limits to how far he can go with it.
I just found out last week that my sister-in-law will be having a baby girl. I cannot wait. She is due in October and although there may be some heart complications, I will love her as much as I know how. Alex will be a great big brother to her. I am hoping to take a trip out to Ohio later this month to visit.
Other than that, I am just planning on enjoying the beautiful weather this summer, and for once, relaxing. I am hoping to visit dear friends and take a few camping trips.
I hope to update more often this summer.
Until next time.....
