GAH!!! I've been so busy, its been crazy!
I started my new job as a research aid at MSU's Plant diagnostic lab today. I'm loving this job. I finally get to do real research with some really awesome people. Angie, the woman teaching me the ropes is super sweet and really patient with all my questions. I've been made in charge of doing the plate dilutions and I'm responsible for isolating Vertcillium dahliae and Verticillium albo-atrum. All that means is that I'm growing some fungus...actually I hope I don't see too many of these little guys...they aren't too good for crops. I'm not sure when, but I think I might be able to do some electrophoresis or PCR (polymerase chain reaction) soon. That would be pretty neat. Also my lab gets three or four greenhouses...I'm not sure which ones yet. I guess we get to do as many experiments as we want, but we can't grow weed. Darn. *L* My classes are hard, but hey I guess that is what I asked for when I decided to do this degree. One of my instructors in my biomedical diagnostic lab class is actually a tech I worked with at Ingham Medical! Its really nice to have her as a teacher, since she taught me so many things already at the hospital. Actually a lot of people in my program worked with me at the hospital. They all know each other in one way or another. I like the CLS program a LOT because of this. It's small and everyone works well with each other. And yes, I'm still employed at the hospital as an LTA...but I have no idea when I'll be on the schedule again. It's really sad, I LOVE working in the micro lab there. ):
I need a bike. Trekking from North Kedzie to the CIPS building is going to kill me in the winter.
In other news...my Dad accidentally ripped out the front porch steps. There is a woodchuck living behind the shed, my room is a mess and I'm not ready to see what I got my my calc quiz. I don't wanna see. Nope. Don't want to at all. ):
laters.
