Much ado---

Fr. Victor called to ask me if my current job deadline would interfere with Chrismation and I was going to say yes just to avoid the whole thing but I told him no, it was still on. He asked if I had a sponsor and I said the person I asked declined after giving me a healthy dose of judgment. So I said seeing as I didn't need one I would just as soon ( Read more... )

It is a tough deadline....I review medical records and at the end of each quarter the findings have to be sent to the State of Pa. Sp usually the last week of March, June, Sept. and Dec. are bad weeks. I recently switched companies but my old company asked if I would work part time until they got a replacement. So I have the deadline for my new employer and the same deadline with the old. As the old company hired my replacement another employee quit so I was asked to stay again. So my schedule has been 8:30am to 5pm at the full time and 6:30pm to 12:30am at the part time, getting home around 1:30am. So I thought my end was over tonight but they asked me to help with another hospital so it won't be until Sunday when I'm done. So the Chrismation is iffy. If I can leave work, get chrismated, go back to work, maybe I can do it. Then on Sunday, which would be my first Orthodox communion (had many Roman Catholic communions) I would need to do the same....attend liturgy and then go back to work.

Nothing is working out the way I planned and it's pretty discouraging. My priest and I both came up with a couple of names so I'm sure I'll have a sponsor. I just didn't want to involve anyone else...prefer to go it alone.

So you have three tough deadlines at the same time. Too bad this great feast falls at the end of June. God help you in all!

Things never work out as planned. This may be your opportunity to prove you want this Chrismation more than anything. Anyway, from my experience, skipping liturgies has never helped me at school/work, while going to church seems to energize me, so to speak.
