(I'm just recording this to remember the day he said it.) Fr. Victor is a man of extreme patience but today, just before he was about to serve communion to the first communicant in line, right in the middle of Liturgy, he said publicly in a loud voice to the congregation, with a little annoyance, "Excuse me for a second. You should remain standing while communion is being served. Christ is present in the Eucharist. So, unless there is truly something wrong with your legs, you should be standing."
When I was a kid in the Roman Catholic Church, I think the rule was while the Eucharist was outside the tabernacle, we were supposed to be kneeling. So the Orthodox get off easy with standing. Anyway, a little shake up is good once in a while.
