Rebel xt's are nice cameras. However, in Canon's rush to make a relatively affordable digital slr, they used a plastic shutter pin which wears out after a while. For that reason I would buy a new one, unless the refurbished ones have new shutter parts or an extended warranty that covers it.

hmm... i think i'm giving up on the slr. and i found out that these refurbished canon's aren't really legit. a canon rep told me they don't refurbish them, but that these sellers probably had some stuff replaced and are selling them under that label.

i think i will stick with getting a new one. :)
