A few days later, Kara told Lee she was going to Colonial One.

“I’m taking the President some reports from your father.  He’s swamped at the moment.”

It was true, although she didn’t say that she had offered to go.  She had another reason to visit Colonial One.

Sam.  She needed to talk to him.  Should have done so a long time

I wonder if said guardian angel knows how often he plays the role of deus ex machina in fics? Gods bless him, lol.

You mean Romeo and Juliet as BSG? Oh dear, I can just imagine it...!

I can see Kara as Romeo more than Lee, though, especially the death scene. I can just see Lee waking up all pleased with his cunning fake death plot, and finding Kara's stabbed herself..."Kara, couldn't you wait five minutes before jumping to conclusions?"

they don't pigeonhole quite as neatly as that into a single play(Lee is more of a Henry IV, for example) but your example just cracked me up!
