Tour

So I just got back from the first tour ever, the first Oily Menace tour, and some real good times. While im bouncing down Audreys session I think I will write about it.

We leave at 10:00 PM Thursday night for New York. Lots of sleeping, singing, trading driving, and listening to Time of Plague and Lady Gaga. Arrive in Manhatten around 10 AM Friday morning. Take the staten island ferry, see some cool shit, eat a good sandwich and head to brooklyn. Chillin in Brooklyn, show starts around 8 PM, we play fourth or something. Some good bands, one good doom band, one terrible doom band. Some pretentious crusty kids call Dylan a clean punk and me and kevin laugh. We play, way too tired and hungry not very well, but its okay. Still have a great time. The band we are touring with, Draize, then plays and whips everyones ass. Band rules live. And on record. So good. We sleep and wake up the next morning around 10 PM to head to Boston. Drive through Connecticut and Massachusets. Long drive, I did half of it. Get to Cambridge, MA to play to a ton of people. 4 band show, first band closes their set with the breakdown from Invalid Litter Dept. Wet dreams ensue. SO GOOD. We play second, and play much better then last night. We hang out with people, I eat the supposed best burger in Boston (Boston and Cambridge are almost the same place, we were right across the street from Harvard) which didnt even compare to a burger from the station. Muskegon for the win. We then go and stay at Tom from Draizes house, who killed it again. Man, band is so good. They thank us in their LP they released. Makes me feel good. Compliments I get from bands that I respect and make me want to play better are they best. Seriously. We then hit the road Sunday morning around 9:30 AM for MI. Long drive, lots of stops, a coop or two, and we are home at 2:30 AM Monday morning.

And another tour with Cloud Rat at the end of the month. How did I get so lucky? Why is my life SO good? Seriously, we met the best people, and did the coolest things. Draize ruled, and everyone we met at the collective in Brooklyn was awesome. Stolen Sleeves Collective. Thanks Fritz. Also good to see the drummer from Zhenia Golov and Black Kites again. Dude rules.

Besides that, heading back to Muskegon tomorrow to chill out, maybe do some bike riding or something. Beach time? Friend time? 3358 time?

I am excited for this semester, excited to be mixing a recording project ime proud of, excited for the Oily Menace to record again soon and release a hopeful 7 inch (we have had a few offers but nothing really feels right yet) and to just be doing things right again. Love it. So into it.
