...and no, not a kitty, but a Kitty Rose, Scott and Emma's first born and delightfully rambunctious two-year-old, who have been visiting since Wednesday...
She's a very determined young lady, and still a little put out that her motor skills don't quite yet match her desires, but we've been having a lot of fun tearing after her as she takes in Cornwall at top speed...
On Saturday after a drizzly outing to Dairyland Farm World, we made a large Black Forest Gateaux for Guez's birthday together, with Kitty helping me crack eggs, beat the mix and spread it in the tins...we then whipped cream and got most of it in the cake and on elbows, and dolloped in black cherry pie filling, until Kitty realised how nice it was and just spooned in straight out the tin into her face...nom nom nom...she then watched in delight as we poured over the chocolate icing and gold edible glitter...and pushed in candles, which were lit and blown out several times so that everyone could have a go.
...she's discovered she likes showers, and will stay in there until the hot water runs out, keeping us updated over forty seconds or so with 'I'm not finished yet'...she also likes to let us know loudly whenever she's done a poo and would like to be changed. She also likes to watch me in the shower and wanted Daddy to come and see too...
Yesterday we all went to the Eden Project where again she took it all in at full pelt as fast as little sandalled feet could carry her around the biomes...there were chips and tomato sauce to eat, jazz to dance to with Daddy, momentary panics as favourite toys were lost and refound and the very through and serious application of imaginary suncream to all the adults around her...
...of course, once she had exhausted the reserves of the three adults it takes to keep up with her assault on the world she still had energy to spare as Scott, Emma and I stared at each other across the tea-table too tired to do much more than shovel in pasta...
Today she was a tad put out that I had to go to work as there are slides at Dairyland Farm world to play on, and doesn't that seem a better way to spend a Monday morning...
