papers, notepads, handouts, magazines, letters, cds, pictures, dvds,  stacked books, at one corner and another, a suitcase too big for the closet, too big for the room, a hamper overfilled with dirty and clean clothes, vitamins, pills, shoes and school bags.  everywhere.
