Jails Opened in NOLA?
I have received an e-mail from my sister about the man-made disaster in NOLA. Not the turf battles and such that have made the local, state, and federal response too little too late, but the "welfare state". Most of the e-mail doesn't bear repeating. ::sigh:: But...
It made one allegation, though, which, if true, would explain a great deal of what happened in the first days towards creating the chaos and utter lawlessness that was present.
It alleged that some city and parish jails (not state prisons) did not have an adequate plan for evacuating those in the jail or for keeping inmates safe while in the jail and so turned them loose.
Anyone else hear about this this? Any credible cites?
