Ne'erday 2010
Today has been recovery day in my house. Well it has been for me, and my brother Chris, anyway. I went down to Rosyth after my work, and spent the night at Amy and Jim's flat. Was a good night. A bit of a head fuck, seeing two guys there I went to school with, that I hadn't seen for over 7 years. Peter Cain and Neil Stewart. Pete was in some of my classes at high school, and i went to nursery and primary school with Neil. Pete is married to Amy's cousin, Amanda. And Neil is going out with Sophie, a friend I met through Amy. Its a really small world, and it felt like a bit of a school reunion. lol. Got home at about half 4 this morning, and fell asleep with the telly on. Also woke up with a wee bit of a headache, that's what I get for mixing my drinks. I had beer, shots, vodka, Morgan's Spiced and a lot more.
So because of the roughness, spent all day today chilling and playing the Wii with my sister. Sat and watched Some Like It Hot with my mum. And I do have to say, Marilyn Monroe was stunning. I do think that a lot of the old screen stars look a lot better than the 'sexy' women in modern cinema. I have always had a thing for Sophia Loren and Brigitte Bardot. The thing is, the fact that Marilyn Monroe has passed, its kind of like she's frozen in time. She will never age. I also like that back then, celebrities where admired from afar. But now, its like you aren't a celebrity if your not being stalked by paparazzi and have aired every piece of your dirty laundry in public. It takes away the whole magic of celebrity, you don't want to know that Victoria Beckham has to visit the salon. It can't be just me who is disappointed when one of my idols live an identical life to mine. There is no magic anymore, just money. People are sold, like they are all in a massive supermarket.
I dunno, I've always had a problem with celebrity, and with me watching Benji and Joel. I mean I love the guys so much, but sometimes the information magazines and websites publish, is just intrusive. Yeah, photograph them when they are at a publicity shoot or whatever, but to stalk Joel when he's out with his daughter? Its horrible.
Anyway, 2010 is gonna be a good year. Already got some gigs lined up, like The Stranglers and The Dead Kennedys and my annual trip to Rebellion in Blackpool. I am also eccstatic about finding my art mojo again. Also a visit to Flamingo Land is on the cards, along with me looking to get a day trip to Alton Towers for SW6, which launches at the start of the season in March. Also looking forward to tripping up to Aberdeen more and just looking forward to a total braw year.
Ok, odd thing just happened. Heidi Montag as in Speidi as in The Hills is following me on twitter. WTF!?! I am confused. She followed me, I follow Lauren Conrad, but not her. It is the verified account too. Strange.
