Sabra!Charles didn't mind the version of himself that much. He wasn't really unnerved or anything. He could understand why a version with memories might be slightly different and he could tell a lot had happened. Generally, he's not really... pushy. With Erik, he can do that, because they have a connection, but in general, he's somewhat wary of forcing his viewpoint on others, even if he feels he's right. So, to him, Charles being slightly mopey was logical. He understood and he didn't want to make him feel worse.

Erik... was difficult for him. He spent a lot of time reaching out to Erik and he succeeded. He was happy with what they have. But Camp!Erik really put a damper on their progress. He felt slightly trapped by their past because of the way Erik kept talking to him and it weighed on him. It also made him question everything he's doing, not something he's used to. While Sabra!Erik and he may bicker, it's never gotten to the point that Camp!Erik had talked to him. So he's worried. He's gotten used to Erik, and he confides in him. He really doesn't want to confront what may happen, and yet at the same time, it's given him determination to pay more attention to his relationships.

So Leto is kind of like a... shared interest for Erik and Charles, so to speak. And Charles actually kind of likes it. He's something that Erik and Charles can deal with together, talk about, argue over -- but in a way that's more like having drinks together a chess game (a normal chess game, not one right before, say, heading off to stop WWIII). It's personal and it's invested, to be sure, but it's not... urgent. It's them being somewhere in between being face-to-face and being side by side.

So, in a sense, they are using Leto, but both Charles and Erik are users, so that's no shock there. And Charles is well aware of how Erik sometimes tries to use Leto against him, to goad him, to make him jealous. And Charles is just, like, oh, you because while Charles certainly doesn't understand all of that emotional stuff Erik has going on, he can recognize when he's being baited and, in this case, the bait is ineffective. It's like Erik trying to temp Charles with something he himself wants.

Charles knows that Leto pokes at Erik rather horribly sometimes, but he doesn't mind. So far, he hasn't gotten a sense of it being anything more than Erik can handle, and he thinks that it's good for Erik to be poked at by someone 1) who isn't trying to hurt him and 2) that Erik can't shut out through brute force (e.g. the helmet, etc.). So basically, Charles is glad that Erik and Leto are involved with each other, in that funny way of theirs. As far as Charles is concerned, the more people involved in Erik's life, the better.

Finally, Charles is aware that Erik is hot for Leto's body. He cool with that. It's rather flattering, really, considering.

For Leto, his interest came from the fact he shares similarities with both of them. They both take on tough choices, have made sacrifices and they have all been otracized one way or another. That being said, Leto thought they would be fun for him. Poke, poke, let's laugh at this silly human/mutant arguments, wow humanity is so hilarious.

What he didn't expect was their vested interest in himself. It's one thing to prod around, stirring up emotions, it's another thing entirely when they become invested in him. He has very bad knee-jerk reactions, especially when he knows they don't exactly see him clearly, their own experiences colouring their perception of him. Charles sees similarities, Erik sees someone who is markedly different from humans... Leto's well-aware that ultimately, they don't really know him at all, and that hurts! Which is why he is, at times, harsher with Erik and Charles than he would be with anyone else.

Yet, at the same time, Leto does feel that out of anyone else in camp, they have the greatest potential to learn from him and understand him. The problem is, Leto is not willing to let anyone get close enough to receive that understanding nor is he emotionally competent enough to show it! He tended to use his sister as his emotional crutch and without her here to interpret his feelings to other people, he just. Shuts down his feelings after people make one too many right conclusions.

tldr, Leto does care about Erik and Charles, but it's caring tampered with bitterness. He just does not believe in their feelings, not when they've been hit by their own tragic consequences.
