Thoughts on Sabra!Charles and Erik.

...SO MANY THOUGHTS. It was all really kind of overwhelming for Charles. He was honestly kind of jealous of Sabra!Charles -- for his mobility, for his chance to change things, for the relationship he still had with Sabra!Erik. But he dealt with it as he deals with funky emotional stuff -- repression, dissociation and compartmentalization. :Db Which, fun though I make of it, does let him digest the moderately weird stuff in a way that's manageable for him, so he got... normalized with Sabra!Charles after not too long, able to consider him a separate person while at the same time feeling that very understandable closeness. Charles is not used to having someone who understands him! Or who could understand him, even if they don't at the moment. He has very bad knee-jerk reactions, especially when he knows they don't exactly see him clearly, their own experiences colouring their perception of him. Charles sees similarities, Erik sees someone who is markedly different from humans... Leto's well-aware that ultimately, they don't really know him at all, and that hurts! Which is why he is, at times, harsher with Erik and Charles than he would be with anyone else.
Yet, at the same time, Leto does feel that out of anyone else in camp, they have the greatest potential to ( ... )
