Sometimes I like to play the Wikipedia fortune telling game. I really like the random article function on wiki and one day things started coming up that were coincidentally related or were things that were directly happening in my life. These coincidences or singularities weren't always immediately apparent but it is fun to try to tease out deeper meanings to randomly generated data. I don't take this seriously as messages from the Spider Gods who control The Web.
Example:
Yesterday's Randoms included:
2 articles on different Warbler bird species
1 other bird article
an article on a specific comic book issue (Mister Miracle from Seven Soldiers of Victory) that i read 2 days ago
2 articles on different towns in the Netherlands
That was out of about 20-25 random articles. There could be something wrong with their shuffle generator but the comic book thing was weird. The day before I had been thinking a lot about birds and how they can see colors we can't, but not speifically thinking of warblers. The Netherlands thing I can't find any relation to.

Singing Volcanoes: Scientists Translate Volcanic Behavior Into Sound Waves
from:
http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2006/08/060810084743.htm "The research project, which brings together experts from Europe and Latin America, digitally collects geophysical information on seismic movements before using data sonification to transform them into audible sound waves, which can then be 'scored' as melodies. The resulting 'music' is then analysed for patterns of behaviour and used to identify similarities in eruption dynamics and so predict future activity."
