I haven't posted in years but.........
I am compelled to tell somebody about the complete cock up at work tonight.
I work at a major regional theater. We are rehearsal for a HUGE musical.
It's an outside production. This show has played several places
in Europe but is making it's state side debut with us.
It is full of special effects and stunts. There is lots of pyro.
Well tonight nobody told the pyro guys that our leading actor
was exiting right next to a pyro pot. He actually caught on fire.
The good news is that he was wearing lots of wool clothing that
protected his body. The only burns he got were small ones on the
back of his hands.
There is nothing that scares me more than an actor laid out
flat on the deck. I did my part and held his burned hands while
we waited for the paramedics. But I couldn't be more angry.
It just isn't worth the effects if people are getting hurt.
Now I have to take a little "medicinal" liquor and try to get some sleep.
