I usually get a little frustrated when someone I know, usually a coworker, starts a sentence with "We Japanese...," because I know that it will be followed by some horrible blanket statement that at least 50percent of the population would disagree wholeheartedly with. Today, though, a teacher that I teach with laid this little gem of knowledge on me. I couldn't help but laugh:
"We Japanese say that the autumn season in Japan is like a young woman's heart - always changing."
The day's weather was strange, and she followed up the statement with a sort of strange matter of fact kind of laugh. Girls will be girls, right?!?
